Join us for a free creative workshop celebrating the beautiful snake’s-head fritillaries and their pollinators found at North Meadow Meadow National Nature Reserve!
Working with an artist, the Floodplain Meadow Partnership are delighted to be able to offer a day of art and crafts on Sunday 29th June 2025. It will be held from 10.30am – 3pm at Cricklade’s Jenner Hall https://crickladejennerhall.com/
There will be a short presentation at the beginning of the day to provide an update on the latest fritillary count findings before we begin. On 8th May 2025, the country will mark the historic 80th anniversary of VE Day, to celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of Word War II. The High Bailiff of Cricklade Court Leet welcomes you all to a celebration to mark the occasion at Saxons Rest on Thursday 8th May at 8.30pm. Featuring The Cricklade Band and Sing Four Four Community Choir, with readings and an act of remembrance by the RBL. The evening will conclude with the lighting of the beacon. If you happen to be passing the Council Offices, please stop and take a moment to look at our window display which honours this historic event.
Notice of Public Court and Appointment of Freemen
Members and Officers have been summoned to attend the next Public Court Leet to be held on Friday 22 November 2024 at 7pm in the Town Hall with the Lord of the Manor Michael Neeld presiding.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
This is an opportunity to hear about the work of the Court and learn more about the Court’s involvement in the management of grazing on North Meadow.
Refreshments are served after the meeting.

Find out more about the beautiful plants that grow on North Meadow. Tutored by David Gowing who has carried out research on North Meadow for 25 years. David is the Professor of Botany at the Open University. This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn more about lowland hay meadows and develop their plant identification skills.

Find out more about these amazing insects on North Meadow. Tutored by Sue Rees -Evans who is the Shropshire County recorder for Dragonflies and Damselflies and an enthusiastic and experienced trainer. This course is aimed at all those with a desire to learn how to identify these stunning insects. We hope to introduce you close-up to a number of damselflies so that you will leave confident in your own abilities to identify them and make species records.

Coronation Monday 8th May meet at the Cricklade Museum for a gentle 3 to 4 mile walk around the parish’s northern boundaries. Find out about this ancient practice during this leisurely stroll.
